We would like to recognize Darsi Graham:

This year, we are grateful to honor Darsi Graham from the U R Special Ministries. U R Special is a predominately all volunteer organization that started in 1993 and strives to improve the self-esteem of the at-risk children in Edmond by providing them with a brand-new outfit of clothing three times a year. These outfits include underwear, socks, jeans/shorts, a shirt, shoes and along with the outfit, the children receive a coat and gloves in the winter and a dress in the spring and fall. U R Special hands out approximately 1400 outfits a year. Recently during their Winter 2023 Distribution, UR Special served 242 boys and 229 girls for a total of 471 children. Darsi Graham started at U R Special as a volunteer in 1998 and has served as the Director for the past eighteen years. As the Director, she purchases clothing, writes grants, organizes the distribution operations, manages the finances and solicits volunteers. Her passion for the organization is fueled by the excitement on the children’s faces as they select an outfit they will feel confident wearing and the knowledge that, for many of these children, wearing this brand-new outfit may be the only time their poverty doesn’t show.
