Volunteers are needed to help with The Miracle League for Tuesday October 27th from 5:45p - 8p.

The Miracle League of Edmond is now being organized by the Rankin YMCA in Edmond and EWC still enjoys being a part of this special time! The Miracle League is a baseball league for children and young adults with varying types and degrees of physical and mental disabilities.  Volunteers have such a great time helping players during the games by giving encouragement, helping them bat and to field balls.  The games are played at the baseball fields at Mitch Park.  A large Miracle League sign indicates the location of their field.  Please sign up to share in this wonderful and fun event for these precious people!

From Miracle League:

"As many of you know, Miracle League provides the opportunity for children and adults with disabilities to play the game of baseball. By volunteering for the Miracle League, each participant will get to call you and your staff a Miracle League Buddy. Miracle League Buddies are assigned a player for each game. The buddy is there to protect the player from hard hit balls, assist the player in batting and running the bases (if needed), and to be a friend on and off the field. Buddies need to be energetic, committed and enthusiastic for each game. Buddies are responsible for their individual player from the time of introduction until the player is back in the care of their parent/guardian. This means that no matter where their player goes the buddy must go. The impact that buddies have on the players is incredible and if you have participated with us before, you most definitely already know that."

Sign up on the EWC website.  We look forward to seeing you there!
